Good For You!

Yesterday, we were at a home improvement store gearing up for our April showers bringing May flowers.  As part of our shopping trip, I looked for products that were made in the USA.  I picked up a hose nozzle.  When I looked, it was made in China.  Lyla wanted to include it in our purchases.  I let her know that we would find another one.  That one was not made in the USA.  There was an elderly man and his wife standing by us.  He said, "Good for you!"  He had such pride in his face when he heard what I said and then said what he saidIt's that look that said it all.

One of the items that we purchased was this garden kit.  Our plan is to grow fruits and vegetables in it.  We love to get our kids involved in any projects that we have and they are, after all, part of the family so it makes them feel good to contributeThe lessons involved in having our kids grow their own food are numerous.  They learn where their food comes from.  They help to care for the plants, which means they learn teamwork and responsibility.  The girls reap what they sow when they eat the fruit of their labor, literally.  My poor husband got covered in potting soil {also Made in the USA}.  He put it all together and let the girls help him.  It was a dirty job, but they had a great time doing it.

What are your spring time projects?  I'd love to hear about them.

I love comments!
